What’s new from The Secretorium? Some of you may have noticed I’ve been working on textile art these last few months. I’ve found myself wildly inspired by embroidery, fiber art, and natural dyeing. My first few pieces were made with fibers I picked up locally and through a few small-batch online retailers. Soon though, I discovered the world of natural dyeing and began to feel that dyeing my own fibers would allow for consistency and control over the final outcome. It’s my feeling that when an artist collects and makes their own materials, their passion and energy infuse the final art to an even greater degree. It’s my hope too, that my buyers will appreciate knowing that I made the pigments myself and, in some cases, even grew or collected the materials.

In The Works

Right now I’m working on assembling a place to track my natural dyeing process. This will be more than just an art share, but will give detailed information on how to gather and dye goods, and how I prep other materials too. Where and how this will come together is still being worked out but expect an announcement soon.

If you’d like to keep up with the newest textile art releases, the best way to see what’s new is to follow me on Instagram or Facebook. Once new work is available for purchase, email subscribers receive first notification. Please consider signing up in the footer of this page if you haven’t already.

For Personal Use Only

I’ve had several requests to make some of my line-work drawings available for coloring pages. Though I’m not feeling a strong desire to assemble a full-scale coloring book, I sure am happy to make available some drawings for print. Like some of you, I too find coloring to be a really relaxing, low-effort way to unwind and get my mind off the day. In a pinch, I’ll print a page for the kids to color too. It’s an activity anyone can enjoy. This Earth Day, I created my first downloadable PDF coloring page for you all inspired by my new adventures in fiber art. This drawing features two silk moths, and a pomegranate and cluster of marigolds, which I have here in the studio waiting to be transformed into natural dye. Bust out the crayons, colored pencils or markers and set aside 10 minutes to chill.
